The most anticipated prequel
Almost twelve years ago, ‘ Gru: My Favorite Villain ‘ (titled only ‘My Favorite Villain’ in Latin America) was released, marking the beginning of a saga that would conquer young and old thanks to its endearing characters : from Gru, a villain who is actually less malevolent than he seems, right down to the intensely funny Minions, as well as the quirky Margo, Edith and Agnes.

A little over two years ago, they announced that it was time to tell God’s story , however its release date has been reset twice . The first time, due to the pandemic, and the second time (and after announcing that it would be one of the children’s premieres of 2021 ) because its producer decided that it would be best to wait another year.
What is ‘Minions: The Origin of Gru’ about?
As its name implies, this long-awaited prequel tells the story of Gru’s origin and will show how a simple boy became the villain (and later ex-villain) that we all know today.
The story takes us back to the 1970s, where an 11-year-old Gru dreams of becoming the world’s most evil and powerful supervillain , accompanied by his faithful shorties: Bob, Kevin, Stuart, and newcomer Otto.
When he learns that the villainous group the Wild Six are on the hunt to fill the void left by their leader after he was fired, Gru hatches a plan to join them, but things don’t go as he envisioned and he ends up becoming the leader. enemy .
In their attempts to help and rescue him from the situation he has found himself in, the Minions learn kung fu techniques and work as a team, proving that even the baddest of villains needs their friends too.
